The shortest path through the journal: how the pages are organised, what to read first, and how to get an answer from the desk.
Wildcrest Journal is organised around three questions that come up before any trip: when to go, what a place costs once you are there, and how to spend the first day without wasting it. Everything else on the site hangs off those three.
If you are choosing dates
Start with when to visit Disney World, which is really a page about crowd calendars and booking deadlines, and then the Chicago free museum calendar, which shows how much of a city you can see without paying full price.
If you are planning a longer stay
Our month in Montenegro is covered in three pieces: the first week in Kotor covering arrival and paperwork, a month of school in Kotor for families, and the housing and cost notes that sit alongside them.
If you want one good day
Three single-day plans: Magic Kingdom with a preschooler, LEGOLAND Chicago with kids, and the Discovery Cove dolphin swim in Orlando.
How the pages are built
Each guide opens with the cost line and the timing, then the walking itself, then what we would change if we did it again. Prices carry the month they were recorded, so a page from last spring is still sound on the route and less sound on the number at the top. Where a figure has moved, the note at the foot of the page says when it was last checked.
How to ask a question
Write to the desk at the contact page with the guide name, your dates and where you are starting from. Corrections are welcome and welcome first. If you want to know who is behind the journal, the About page has the short version.
